Since being awarded funding from the Culture Recovery Fund, the team have been making good progress to prepare the Iron Duke for survey and recording. The building has been secured to prevent unauthorised access, waste has been cleared and emergency repairs have been undertaken.
We are on track to begin the process of survey and recording, which will support the development of a feasibility study and options appraisal to determine a sustainable future use for the building. Over the next year we hope to further develop these plans, apply for funding and begin a full-scale restoration.
As these photos show, we've a lot of work ahead of us, but the potential of this beautiful Art Deco building is unmistakable and we're very excited to see where this project takes us!
